From humble beginnings in 2002 when Matilde made famous her mojo picon sauces, first at one market stall, then at many, until the demand warranted a full time retail shop, Mojo Picon is now starting its new chapter in franchising.
If you have a passion for food and love working with people and want to get in on a ground floor opportunity then Mojo Picon might be just what you are looking for
Franchising is a very popular and successful business format in Australia with us having more franchises per capita than the USA. A franchised business is 80% more likely to success over a 5 year period than an independent business and that’s down to 4 main reasons: Franchisees benefit from:
Typically franchising involves the payment of an initial franchise fee and ongoing royalties, in exchange for the right to conduct business under a brand name or system (or both) for a specified period of time
Franchising offers business buyers the opportunity to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves.
Our story beings in the Canary Islands in a traditional village. One of 7 children I was literally born in the kitchen. My mother was a pastry chef and so began my love affair with food. From the Canary Islands I moved to London and started my career in Hospitality working for Starwood Hotels as well as a host of fast food restaurants including Taco Bell, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC and Quicks. Following my heart I migrated to Brisbane and then Sydney continuing to work in the hospitality Industry.
Every time I would go to a party or BBQ I would take one of my home made sauces and people kept saying to me – these are so good you should sell them. At I thought they were just being polite but time and time again I got the same response. So Allan went and bought me some jars and booked a stand for me at some local markets. The rest they say is history.
Needless to say the sauces sold out and we started doing more and more markets. Then people would ask how to use the sauces so we started offering Spanish Chorizo, Garlic Prawns and then Paella and more. From here grew a demand for cooking classes and catering and all of this culminated in the opening of our first shop front in the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park
We are excited to be starting the next chapter in our story by franchising Mojo Picon. With my passion for food, and Allan’s experience in sales and marketing we are growing from strength to strength and are looking for motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team. If you love food, and working with people and are looking for a franchise that is popular but a little different from the rest, come and talk to us and find out if Mojo Picon could be the next exciting chapter in your life.
We are not after world domination but what we would like to see is a chain of boutique Mojo Picon restaurants throughout Australia selling delicious tasting, freshly made, mouth-watering Spanish cuisine that people rave about. We want to be known as a fun place to eat that is always warm and welcoming.
